Date and almond baked apples

    1. Step 1

      Preheat oven to 230°C.

    2. Step 2

      Place the orange juice and apples in a large bowl, and toss well. Place the apples, cut-side up, with the juice in a shallow baking dish large enough to hold the apples in a single layer.

    3. Step 3

      Combine the dates, almond meal and cinnamon in a small bowl. Spread about 1 tablespoon of date mixture over the cut surface of each apple and use your fingers to press down firmly. Cover the dish with foil and bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for a further 5 minutes.

    4. Step 4

      To serve, place 2 apple halves on each plate, drizzle with pan juices and top with a dollop of yoghurt.
