    1. Step 1

      Preheat oven to 190C and arrange paper patty cases inside muffin pans.

    2. Step 2

      Cream butter and sugar and beat in golden syrup, egg and vanilla. Fold in dry ingredients alternately with milk.

    3. Step 3

      Spoon mixture into patty cases and bake 9-10 minutes. Leave to cool before icing.

    ANNABEL'S TIP: For Butterfly Cakes, carefully cut out small rounds from the top of each cake and drop a spoon of cream into the hole. Top with a spoon of jam. Cut tops in half and replace on top of cakes like butterfly wings. Dust with icing sugar.
