Spiced apple juice

Ingredients
  • 2L (8 cups) apple juice
  • 2 x 7cm cinnamon sticks, lightly crushed
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 4 strips orange peel
  • 4 strips lemon peel
  • 2 granny smith apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
  • Ice cubes, to serve

    1. Step 1

      Place the apple juice, cinnamon, cloves and combined peel in a saucepan over high heat. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes or until aromatic. Set aside for 10 minutes to cool. Transfer to an airtight container and place in the fridge for 2 hours to chill.

    2. Step 2

      Strain the juice into a jug. Divide the apple and ice among serving glasses. Pour over the juice and serve.

    Prep: 5 mins (+ 10 mins cooling & 2 hours chilling time) Carry out step 1 up to 1 day ahead. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Continue from step 2 just before serving.
