Pork and vegetable dumplings

    1. Step 1

      Combine mince, mushroom, onion, corn, carrot, ginger and garlic in a bowl. Season with pepper. Add sesame oil and half the soy sauce. Mix well to combine.

    2. Step 2

      Place 1 wonton wrapper on a board. Spoon 11⁄2 teaspoons mince mixture onto centre of wrapper. Brush edge with cold water. Fold up sides to form a square pouch. Pinch edges together to enclose filling. Place on a tray lined with baking paper. Repeat with remaining wrappers and mince.

    3. Step 3

      Place a large steamer, lined with baking paper, over a saucepan of simmering water. Cook dumplings, in batches, for 10 to 12 minutes or until tender and cooked through. Serve with remaining soy sauce.

    Try folding wontons into different shapes such as triangles or money bags. Save time by cooking in 1 large batch in the oven. Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Place a wire rack in a roasting pan. Add enough boiling water to cover base (ensure water doesn't touch top of rack). Place dumplings on rack. Cover tightly with foil. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until cooked through.
