- Step 1
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook, stirring, for 7-8 minutes until onion is soft. Add chilli and cook for 1 minute.

Add tomatoes and stock, and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in sugar.

Meanwhile, cook pasta in a large saucepan of salted boiling water according to packet directions or until al dente. Drain and return pasta to pan. Add sauce and chopped basil, toss to combine. Serve, sprinkled with basil and shaved parmesan.
