Preheat oven to 180°C.

Combine the butter, brown sugar and thickened cream in a medium saucepan and stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool for 10 minutes.

Add the egg, the ground and whole macadamia nuts and the vanilla to the cream mixture and stir until combined.
- Step 4
Place the tart cases still in their foil cases onto a baking tray Spoon the macadamia mixture into the tart cases and bake for 15 minutes or until golden and just set. Serve warm or at room temperature sprinkled with icing sugar and accompanied by the extra cream.
