Mix eggs, vanilla essence, oil and sugar in a bowl.

In another bowl combine flours, bi-carb and spices. Add dry mix to wet and stir.

Add in grated carrot and walnuts and mix until just combined.

Put in a loaf tin and cook for 1 1/4 hours. Remove from oven and allow to cool.

For the icing, let the butter and cream cheese soften.
- Step 6
Then mix all ingredients together using a mix master or electric beater until creamy and smooth.
- Step 7
Ice cake liberally once cool.
