- Step 1
Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas Mark 6. Grease a large baking sheet with the butter or margarine.

Mix together the cheese and herbs and sprinkle over 1 sheet of puff pastry. Fold the puff pastry in half and roll out a little to seal the edges.

Cut the pastry into long 1-cm/1/2-inch wide strips, then cut each strip in half and gently twist. Place on prepared baking sheet. Brush with the beaten egg and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until crisp and golden. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
- Step 4
Repeat with leftover cheese mix and remaining sheet of puff pastry.
